Not sure this is the best place to ask.

I managed to get a cheap tier point run error fare from Dublin to Cancun return. Is it possible to change the inbound date once I have flown the outbound? I think I saw somewhere that this is cheaper as the entire flight price does not recalculate. Currently to make any change to the inbound is at least 1000 Euros.
