Been specifically looking at Europe to Oz flights and any J availability seems to be at 2x. On the rule of thumb of 1 Avios being 1p(UK), and once taxes and YQ are added, there’s not now much difference to the actual cash price for the ticket. So I suspect what we are seeing is the effect of higher cash fares feeding through into more Avios being required.
We are seeing a devaluation in the making, there’s just too many points around with sky high demand. One should expect their points to loose value in the coming months.
