Took yellow taxi from IST to Arnavutkoy hotel ("The Great Airport Hotel") on 17 Sep; fare was 238 TRY, but had to politely and smilingly insist that driver use meter before we loaded luggage into trunk. Initially tried to use Uber, one driver accepted, then texted us asking for 25 Euro, I refused, he cancelled. So, decided to try the taxi queue instead as mentioned above. Ride was less than 15 minutes, no funny business with fare/route.

Returned to IST on 18 Sep for early morning flight. Hotel staff called taxi for us, told driver no funny business, took bizcard from driver and told us this is for our safety. Fare on meter was 280 TRY, the extra due to meter starting when driver drove to our hotel.

Hotel texted us when reservation was made in late August offering shuttle for 25 Euro one-way, 45 Euro roundtrip. As mentioned above, taxis were much cheaper and without hassle.
