What month are you staying and what departure times are you looking at out of GLA? The section of the M8 between Govan and Paisley heading towards the airport is on a contra flow for improvement works with a 40mph limit and average speed cameras. Add in rush hour traffic and it can make the drive over interminable at times (I’m doing it this Saturday).

If your trip is in the near future, I’d definitely recommend EDI to avoid the traffic.
I'd echo this warning re the roadworks on the M8 at the moment. Last week it took me 3.5hrs to drive from Greenock to Edinburgh leaving at 3pm.

Glasgow is the more relaxing airport and easier to pass through IMO but if you hit the motorway at the wrong time getting there can be stressful.
