This is due to two factors - 1) Cayman prices - even the Hampton Inn is often $400 pn. 2) I've found that Americans seem to be prepared to pay an awful lot for their holidays, possibly because they don't enjoy several weeks of paid leave as we do in Europe so will blow their budget on one or two very expensive weeks away. So hoteliers know that guests will pay these prices and keep charging them! Ditto the crazy resort fees. The RC was $95 pn pre-Covid, probably even more now!
