Thought about posting this in "dining", but I'd rather get mostly family opinions.

I visit LA 4 or 5 times a year on business. Once in a while, I get to bring my partner with me. This year, I've arranged a trip to coincide with Valentine's Day.

Can you all recommend some restaurants we might enjoy for a Valentine's Day dinner? I had wanted to book a restaurant in West Hollywood that did cooking demonstrations at Bloomingdales in Century City a few months back, but can't remember the name. The restaurant needn't be "gay" or in a predominantly gay area. We loved The Ivy, and love cool places to see stars.

I feel like I should try and book something now before everything fills up.

any suggestions?
