So basically you get everything all at once, wait while they serve everyone else, then at the very end when the dessert cart comes out, you get your ice cream. Maybe they give you the ice cream first if you're lucky but you finish eating about the same time as normal. Just less service.

In reality, express dining not much different than regular service in its current form. Food is the same, service is just as minimal and rushed. Most people requesting express dining just get the food, eat what's edible, and go to sleep. They are already fast asleep by the time desert is served.
