I recently tried to connect a S&S account to a FR account for a relative of mine and was also not able to do so. I was told by the FR customer service agent it has to by done on the Stop and Shop site, and then by a Stop and Shop customer service agent that it has to be added in the FR app or on their website, but neither of those give the option to add a S&S account and or add it manually.
Not sure if they stopped allowing the linking for some reason, but my personal S&S account is still linked to my FR's account and is working as intended so it doesn't seem like they've stopped the unity of the programs completely.
