JAL red eye service always does not make sense in terms of meal service. Even for JL41 to LHR, they wake people up five hours before landing. And meals out of JFK have always been terrible that I'd prefer to skip - was served a cold "Lox & Bagel" in April 2022 (which they are still serving on some of the routes today). I see many people in the cabin are equally shocked by having this cold second meal on a long haul flight. Most other airlines in Asia were happy to serve two hot meals on long haul red eye flights - only JAL (or perhaps ANA) is not adopting that.
