Singapore Airlines is a bit consistent with its business class products - most aircraft have lie-flat seats, except a few of the Boeing 737-800s that they inherit from Silk Air. They are mostly used for the shorter flights to KUL/Penang/Phuket and other low-yield/leisure markets. I really like SIngapore Airlines' catering, in terms of both quality and quantity. SQ F/As are also better especially the crews tend to be proud to be a Singapore Boy or Girl and there is a little bit of Pride. These days, you can really sense the difference between the morale expressed by Singapore Airlines F/As and Cathay Pacific F/As.

The only good part about Cathay Pacific is their lounge networks. Singapore Airlines' lounges truly underwhelm especially their hometown airports. The Silver Kris lounge in Changi's terminal three is truly disappointing. CX designs better lounges and offers better food and drink experience in their lounges. Perhaps it is to compensate their underwhelming onboard dining. I buy sandwiches and snacks when I fly CX long haul now because I know I will be hungry given how small the pre-arrival meals are. SQ is better in that aspect but I am not a fan of the "middle of the night" main meal service style offered by SQ on their ultra-long haul flights, as they just can't do dine-on-demand. I also am not a fan of "on request" amenities service. The F/As really have no issues offering those items, but I should not need to go through the hassles in requesting them.

But these days I definitely prefer SQ too. SQ is just a better run airlines. (However Scoot is another story. It is truly an unreliable and dishhonest airline, while Hong Kong Express is much better.)
