I would personally just complete the KUL sector on the same day. Even if there's a missed connection, there's a flight ever hour so you'd likely be able to get on the next "shuttle" without much hassle as long as it was ticketed together.
Perk of doing so is the much cheaper and as good hotels in KUL compared to SIN. For SGD300 (standard CP room on low season) is a Suite at the Grand Hyatt KL.
