You need to check like the fare was calculated. It is visible on your e-ticket receipt. Look for Fare Calculation line (long one with the route and fare components). If a thoroughfare was used (no amount after the city pair) this normally means no refund. You need to check taxes (identified by 2 or 3 letter codes) as some taxes in Europe are refundable. I am quite sure you can Google the refundability info out.
Thoroughfare example:
AAA LH BBB OS CCC M300.00 - this means the fare is from AAA to CCC. If you want to skip AAA to BBB recalculation needs to happen and BBB to CCC may actually be more expensiv
