A bunch of the E gates are not actually spaced for wide-bodies, nor do they have the double jetways.

Most (all?) of the wide-body gates are at the south ends of the E and C concourses, so C can be used for int’l departures.

UA actually uses a lot of 737s internationally to Caribbean, Mexico, Central America, Northern South America. It’s not all domestic 737/757s at E - they do need connection to the immigration hall.
