Called AA, 10 minute later callback, rep was clueless, told me it’s a Hyatt promo so I should call Hyatt and said the email was sent months ago and since I was Plat already the promo did not apply to me. Second time he asked to put me on hold to talk to his support, I did a quasi-HUCA (asked for a supervisor/manager). Amazingly and fortunately after 3-5 minute hold a very knowledgeable supervisor picked up. I explained the situation, he said “I can see you’re eligible, would you like me to apply the promotion now?” Yes, I logged in, saw “AAdvantage Platinum Pro® Valid through Jan 14, 2024.” Happy camper. I asked him several questions about upgrade and SDC differences between Plat and PlatPro, he manually added my new status to an existing reservation for next week (apparently that was not automatic with promotion registration). Suggest to all those who have not received an email (about this promotion) to call AA, only risk is a few minutes of your time.
