I have 4 Delta gift cards which will be sent over to the state, if I don't return their included form indicating that I still want them lol. Ridiculous that it has be done through snail mail in 2023 and no explicit way to do it online/electronically.
Anyway, if I were to purchase a flight, the total of which would be a little over the total amount of these gift cards, and then cancel the flight in under 24 hours, 1)would I reset the clock on these gift cards and 2)would the refund of the gift card portion of the fare be consolidated onto just one gift card with a completely new gift card number?

You could end up with both the gift cards and having Delta send it to the state so you can claim it from them. Or you could end up losing both the gift card and what you're doing causing some issue so they don't actually end up sending anything to the state. Do you feel lucky?
