So it isn’t really $6, $12, or $18k of tickets. It’s more like $9, $16, or $27k of tickets.
My $500 ticket got me less than 300 MQDs.

How do you get less than 60% in MQD?
For US only itineraries: 7.5% tax, $4.8 segment tax, $4.5 facility fee per segment, $5.6 security fee per segment except connecting
For international, there are additional tax/fees, including those assessed by origin and destination countries. There are also carrier surcharges, but that earns MQD.
