Is it crazy to spend, with my wife's help, $75k on the vanilla platinum just to ensure I'm not dealing with Delta's horrible rules. I really don't want to give the $ to DL directly after they destroyed the loyalty program - I am still a huge amex fan. We usually use SkyClub every trip (so 40+ a year)
There is a huge opportunity cost to putting $75k on an AMEX Platinum unless it's all on airfare. I rather get a Citi Double Cash and get 2% back. Then use part of the CB and buy an SC membership.

If only I had a crystal ball at that time and could see what ended up happening on September 14, 2023...
