Holiday Inn Lancaster (UK)

What is your Priority Club status?
Diamond

Were you (or for multi-stayers are you generally) happy with the hotel/stay?
Not really.

Which room did you book and which upgrade did you receive?
Booked 2 doubles and got 2 doubles.

How are the rooms?
Poor condition, falling apart.
Window could be opened but faces a public path by the river with lots of walkers, and there is a notice saying to avoid opening it due to flies / midges.

How is the exec. lounge?
None

What was good and what was bad?
Good - breakfast had a lot of salad / colourful vegetables which genuinely seemed to be fresh, not just the typical fried and greasy English breakfast items which you don't want to eat every day when staying in these midscale hotels for 2 weeks in one go.
- Apparently free gym classes are offered for guests at the health club.
- Free parking but requires registration at the ParkingEye tablet.
- Location is good for visiting the Lakes.
- Staff average.

Good&bad - Has a kids play area in the lobby, but all the toys are broken / parts missing / damaged.

Bad - initially assigned a room which had not been cleaned or made up - and we arrived at 8pm. Given drink voucher as compensation.

Value for $ or Priority Club Points? Would you return?
Paid 30000 points instead of £150 which is ridiculously overpriced, but hotel was quite busy on a weeknight and seems to command high prices at least throughout summer.
Only stayed in order to reach the next milestone bonus - would not return unless the price was much lower.
