I had another stay at SO/ Paris and again received double upgrade from Collection King to Iconic Paris Skyline room (similar than in my previous review so I don’t post photos now). Last time I was Diamond member, this time Platinum and the package included one category upgrade.
The room was as good as before: filled with designer furniture, tons of natural light and comfortable bed. Complimentary soft drinks from the minibar is always a plus.
The shower was great but the hotel didn’t provide shower gel, only liquid hand soap which must have been be a mistake. The room didn’t have shoe horn either which caused some inconveniences.
In addition to à la carte breakfast, they now had a pastry buffet which was nice. I also had dinner at the hotel and only found out after the stay that the restaurant is operated by a third party company and doesn’t participate the loyalty program so no points are credited for spending at hotel restaurant, bar or room service.
The room itself wasn’t ready until late afternoon, well behind the official check-in time despite the hotel had inquired our early arrival time ahead. Late check-out was granted until 4pm.
The welcome amenity consisted of two madeleines and chocolates.
