Ah, so I see - I've never come across an airline in Europe which won't let me carry a standard cabin bag on at least some of the time - looks like Emerald is going to be a pain (for the Bristol route). I guess I might be checking in a bag for the first time in 20 years of commuting. Either that, I just chance it and plan on getting away with it most of the time or I need to go looking for a smaller suitcase which will still fit shirts, but that size is really very small (about 30% smaller than a Rimowa Cabin Small)... It almost, but I think not quite makes Ryanair look an attractive option.
