Has anyone tried booking the US-DOH leg and then when the connecting leg opens, calling to "change" the flight to add that leg? I think that would be a $25 fee, but wonder if you could get that itinerary at the reduced rate vs the higher cost of booking those legs separately?
I think the experience in other threads is that you cannot do that. They will make you cancel and rebook the entire trip (and there’s no guarantee award availability on your cancelled flight will return to inventory).
