Hi there! I am one of the potential refugees from Delta... and a free agent for now.

When is the best time to status match with AS? I have Silver Medallion, and with the new DL rules, I only get to keep it by end-Dec this year (and it used to be that it would be good until end-Jan of the next year).

Do I understand it correctly that if I apply, say by December of this year, I get to keep the equivalent MVP for the whole of next year as long as I fly 5K miles with AS within 90 days of approval? How long does it take for them to process the application? Can I apply during the last week of December and get that status approved by then?

My only trip remaining for this year is a longhaul on DL/KE in Dec and returning in Jan 2024 that is already booked. I don't anticipate any other flying until about Feb or so.
