We toured Chile in 2017. In Valapariso we stayed at Palacio Astoreca. Rooms were funky. It was lovely, but not luxury and no a/c. We had lunch at Casa Higueras. There seemed to be many wealthy clientele having lunch there. Looking at their web site I would pick casa Higueras, In Santiago we stayed at the Ritz Carlton Club floor. Are you going to Easter Island? We stayed at the Explora there. The guides at Explora were excellent. The hikes could be strenuous (we passed on those) or easier. Entry to Easter Island was very confusing, with long lines and buying passes for the parks. So make sure you find out ahead of time if you need to buy the passes at the airport or if the hotel takes care of them for you and you can skip the lines.
