If you go into MMB on ba.com and attempt to choose your seats it should offer to redirect you to aa.com for that, but it will also show the AA booking reference. You can then plug that into either the AA app or online and choose your seats. Hope that helps?
I figured it out, AA has its own reference that was "hidden" on the BA booking, took me long time to find it.
