SQ cabin crew used to be more proactive in offering people help converting to bed mode. Occasionally they still will (on one recent flight I went to the toilet after dinner and came back to a bed that I hadn't even requested) but it seems to be rarer. They do advertise the information during one of the pre-flight videos, just after the safety video I think, but who watches that stuff?
