I wouldn't select a seat in flub online, even if briefly the first seats show as available. The danger is BA moves you back but your original CW seat has been taken so you get something you don't like. Generally BA will Flub who they want to Flub, and if you aren't in that group you will be moved back. So I would stay where you are and cross your fingers.
