I called AP (twice) yesterday to change my upcoming PY NRT-YYZ flight on AC, to ANA J. There was availability for HND-ORD and HND-IAH based on United and EF, however the agents weren't able to see anything on their side. They both said that award seating may get released to some partner airlines but not others, and that if the flights don't appear on the Aeroplan website then they won't be able to see them either. After insisting that I would expect ANA to make the flights available to all partners airlines, one of the agents admitted that they honestly don't really know how it works. Based on that, I'm assuming that the thing about the partner airline specifically not making it available on Aeroplan is just a blanket statement they're told to say in these situations. Pretty frustrating and I was hoping to snag some last minute availability for my return trip.
