Higher floor is more likely to have pure water views. It would honestly be hard to say any room/view is much better than the other. You'd be getting into granular specifics and personal preference. The highest floor ocean front rooms, of which I think most units are the large expensive suites, are probably best. The lower floor resort facing rooms are probably least desirable. Everything else is about the same and dependent on personal preference.

I would not try to go off property on a 5 day stay. There's plenty to do onsite so long as you are ok embracing the AI/resort captive way of doing things. I had some similar anxiety about planning things but it was actually quite fine to just figure it out once you get there. Maybe get the lay of the land on your first day and try to plan from there.
