I have both Wise and a Schwab debit card. I did buy some JPY on Wise last year when rates were favorable and used them on my trips to Japan by paying for purchases using the Wise card. I exclusively used the Schwab debit card for cash withdrawals. Wise is not very good for getting cash while traveling.
