But the status card overrules the boarding pass. Did you not show your current valid VS Gold card to the receptionist after the self-scanner beeped red? They never incorrectly turn away a qualified visitor, in my experience (and I have seen them turn away a lot of chancers of late, now that the Aspire lounge is closed).
