Update AUG 2023

As promised an update on the state of the Kimpton Fitzroy in London during the intense summer heatwave of AUG 2023

I shan't do a lot of talk and show of the building/facilities this time because nicolas75 has already extensive documented it in high resolution, the complete look and feel of the premises.
To start with, i had a nice surprise when checking in....

Next to me was none other than the legend, influencer, celebrity personality, walking marketing personification, SkytraX spokesperson, Youtube deity, AV-Geek......

At least i presume it to be him, because he kept yapping about comparing this Kimpton with his next stay at IC PL and if his ParkView suite was already available at 13.00 check in time.
Also some long rant about British Airways blablabla

Anyway,

Returning back to me,
Fortunately my two rooms were ready for checkin in the morning, thanks to InnerCircle status (+ advance email notification from me)
I was visiting with my travel companion, we booked each an own room for solo occupancy under my IHG-1rewards account. One was revenue and the other award.
Interesting that if you book an award room for solo occupancy, it defaults to category "single room", in our case i just booked it for two persons to make sure we got a larger "Queen" room alocated. My revenue booking was for a "Queen" room.

Glad to know that there was no fuss at all with selecting breakfast as my Diamond welcome amenity and it was also valid for my travel companion

I was helped by trainee receptionist Mariana and guest relations Angela whom were very up to date with IHG & Inner Circle benefits : a pleasure to have met them as they acknowledged my status and were aware of my advance requests per email.
