Thanks for the replies. In the SkyTeam wikipedia page it says Shanghai Airlines is an affiliate member and their aircraft carry the SkyTeam logo (e.g. https://www.planespotters.net/photo/1477971/b-208x-shanghai-airlines-boeing-787-9-dreamliner) so I was not sure.

Confused by this KLM statement - https://news.klm.com/shanghai-airlines-to-become-part-of-skyteam-en/

As expected, the best fares are with the airlines that don't earn - what a surprise!
