Glad the car ended up being decent and they were proactive about a discount. I arrived at Syracuse once (which is a small airport, no aisle) to a similar situation – all Enterprise/National rentals were being put on a wait list. It seemed National customers were being given priority because they were asking for status. I gave the employee my last name and said EE and she asked me to accompany her. On the walk to the lot turns out she was one of the managers and they had "set aside" a car for me, a RAV4. Nothing special at all about it, but also nothing wrong with it. They had absolutely 0 cars on in their section of the garage so I was grateful to be on my way rather quickly, since others had to wait. I was renting from that location 1-2 a month for a while, so maybe somebody remembered my name.
