thanks so much for offering to get involved. However, I managed to get a resolution of this. In a state of exasperation, I tried emailing the GGL team in the hope that they might be prepared to try to reach some kind of a resolution. One of the wonderful ladies on the team picked it up straight away and suggested a resolution, which, whilst not being totally what I was looking for, was certainly a more than fair compromise. She said she understood my position clearly, and that it was apparent that I believed was booked on Thursday’s flight irrespective of what may or may not have been said on the call. She said that World Traveller Plus was overbooked on the flight, so it was very difficult to do anything about that, but club had a lot of availability And she said that if I would pay the change fee BA would waive the fare difference so that’s what we agreed to do.
But it was amazing how hours and hours of talking to the gold helpline got me absolutely nowhere and yet one email to the GGL team and somebody took personal responsibility for it, came up with a good suggestion and resolved the situation.
