I was on the JL41 HND to LHR as an economy pax without status on Sunday night last week.
It was great. Lounge “opened” at 9:40pm.
There had been no restaurants landside at HND that didn’t have less than an hour waiting time and we had wanted a last meal with my father-in-law, so we checked our luggage in at around 7:40pm or so and headed off to Keikyu Kamata station and ate there.
This meant that we arrived at the Sakura “Sky View” lounge at 10pm. We went straight in.
It wasn’t particularly busy, I’d say it was at least half empty. Never had to wait long for any of the food options. There were drink and coffee stations along the length of the lounge with more premium drinks as one reached further away from the food area.
I don’t know if a Sunday night is particularly quiet for the 5th floor lounge or how representative our experience was. Everything was packed out landside.
For us, that particular red eye service was a very enjoyable experience and we’d actively seek to repeat it. Easily the best long haul Economy flight we’ve ever had, on every level.
