Eligible flights credit - BA/AA metal switch to booking
I have upcoming flights booked through American Airlines on British Airways metal, going LHR-ORD-ROC-BOS-LHR (transatlantic legs on BA, not U.S. domestic obviously).
American has made significant schedule changes on the ORD-ROC and ROC-BOS legs that leave me with two layovers (outbound) and a seven hour layover (inbound). Rebooking into more reasonable flights puts me on American metal and flight numbers instead of British Airways metal and/or British Airways flight numbers.
Unexpectedly, with my upcoming travel this could leave me short of requalifying for Exec Club based on required BA eligible flights. Would BA consider providing original booked flight credits, rather than the changed ones? Or am I stuck?
I could look at alternative flights on BA but the times are less ideal so a question of convenience versus that status issue. Just exploring solutions.
