Sorry what I meant to say just paying for business class gets you the same as status. Thats because the crew dont care anymore and nor do CX. I am so glad I think I had the best of DM when it was probably at its best and I have been so well looked after by CX. I have some amazing gifts from them including part of a fan blade and the engine mounting bolt off a 747 I was on, that had to make a full emergency landing when one of the starboard engines exploded and the wing was on fire coming into Amsterdam. The engine in question is now on a stand at the entrance to my friends farm in Australia along with the wind sock from the old Kai Tak airport. They even organised a dinner for my birthday one year with a bunch of the office staff. Nothing like this will ever come back.
