My United MileagePlus Visa Platinum card is what I had. I never paid an AF in 2yrs.
But United just upgraded to a MileagePlus Visa Signature card - United tells there is no AF either.

Confusing names and does this give me free check in? What about carry on?
I can not find these cards online!

You seems to have nailed it:
Baggage allowance and charges for this itinerary
MileagePlusĀ® Explorer Card member and one companion on the same reservation are each eligible for waiver of the service charge for the first checked bag (within specified size and weight limits). Must be a MileagePlus Explorer Card member at time of check-in, and ticket(s) must have been purchased using the Card in order to qualify. Applies only on United- and United Express-operated flights, and when baggage check-in occurs with United.

I have United MileagePlus® Visa Signature/Platinum card.
So the above does not apply?

So I can still take a carry on free of charge?
