Interlining CI-AF (China Airlines to Air France) on separate tickets.

On the off chance that anyone here has recent experience, I am looking into flying TPE-SIN on CI in one booking, followed by SIN-CDG on AF in a separate booking, both flights are in J and I am STE+ (FB Plat), I'll have plenty of time to get my luggage and re-check if needed but obviously looking to avoid that, according to their website it doesn't look like they won't tag-through my luggage, is that really the case?
