I decided to stay here because rate was significantly cheaper than other Hyatts and wanted to see how downtown was doing. It was over 6 months since our last stay.
The front dest agents (Anthony in particular) were spectacular. Very friendly, knew their stuff and really cared about feedback and knowing how our stay was. Was upgraded to the one bed room suite on the 15th floor. When we arrived there was a nice Globalist bag waiting included two reusable waters, chocolates, snacks and little globe gift along with a handwritten card with information. Hotel now has a wine hour from 5-6pm during weekdays.
Interesting room with good layout - record player was working, shower had a little ledge for leg shaving, hot water was very hot (great for those cold winter days). Breakfast went from 7am until 11am and the service was very good, attentive and friendly. They made substitutions without hesitation and even told someone sitting nearby us that the chicken sausage was not halal (which is not obvious) without the guy asking. Food was good and the hot chocolate (which we got instead of coffee) was delicious. Found parking right across the street which is free from 7pm-8am Monday-Sat and then 7pm-1pm on Sat night/Sun morning. Only downside is the suite had some really loud banging noises randomly throughout the day/night - they sent someone to roof to check since it was windy, but sounds like pipes bang if rooms nearby flush. It was so loud as to wake me up on one occasion but stopped after midnight.
Right next to the hotel there were some great restaurants- Toki (Korean) for dinner and 1927 S'mores Company for dessert. Jake's famous crawfish is a block away too. Looks like there is a new "food cart" setup in the Moxy lobby too with a roaring fireplace.
For $110 a night this tuned out much better than I was expecting.
In the middle of a 3 night stay and got the same suite upgrade (no TSU), experience largely mimics yours. The loud banging is still present by the way which is odd but never woke me up. The breakfast is very good by the way and the coupon covers everything including tip. Have been encouraged to get multiple drinks and no extra charge on bill yet. Did not receive the globalist bag but did arrive very late after the EWR mess on Friday.
