I am not sure about the wooden combs - I have asked at least 10 times in the last couple of months and haven't received one yet.

However, all this 'on-request' stuff, only harms BA's reputation. If the crew know what they are doing and you know the ropes you are fine. But so many times the crew do not know what they are doing - at least 50% of the time I end up explaining there is a razor on the trolley if only they will look, they almost automatically say they don't have one.

So now I end up carrying my own PJ's (I am sick of figthing for a pair on a 'day flight'); my own brush (I have a nice Lufthansa First one which folds, having never once received a brush or comb on a BA flight); and razor and shaving foam (having lost patience explaining to countless cabin crew to just look on the trolley).

I also carry my own Bose noise reducing headphones - unlike many other airlines BA obviously don't trust their customers with these. And of course spare batteries for them as 'Shopping the World' haven't got the imagination to stock them and the days of the flight crew letting you have some of their batteries are long gone.

I also now carry my own Playing Cards. You used to be able to get these free in First, but now 90% of the time they make you buy them from 'Shopping the World'.

And finally, I carry my own pens and writing paper - the First stationary set having been lost a couple of years ago.

Anyone want to claim BA have not dumbed-down their (very soon to be) flag-ship product?

Nick

PS: I still love the product, but just get a little frsutrated at the apparent penny-pinching.
