Stayed here recently, and wow, both hard and soft product are phenomenal. We have always been fans of RC's, and this is our new favorite Marriott property.

Booked Reserve Suite via FHR, and upgraded to Mandapa Suite decorated with honeymoon decorations. We really liked the layout of the Mandapa Suite.

Turns out I accidentally booked 2 queens, so they let us use the Mandapa Suite for a few hours while upgrading us once more to 1 King Rice Paddy Villa. Our butler even setup a duplicate set of honeymoon decorations in the new villa.

Like others have said, the Rice Paddy Villas lack a bit in privacy, but the hard product and views are totally worth it.

Food

Food was heavenly. The dishes and drinks across all restaurants were absolutely amazing, and we can't name one bad item across the entire property.

Sawah Terrace's breakfast buffet selection is not as wide as some other luxury Marriott properties in Bali, but the quality of each dish is significantly higher. The included a la carte menu is also fantastic. We much prefer Mandapa's Sawah Terrace breakfast to that of StR Bali's Boneka.

My wife loves Mangosteens, and greatly appreciated staff cutting them open for her every time she got a plate full from the buffet.

They also have what is now my favorite bacon. It's sliced very thin, quite crispy, and has absolutely no oil residue.

Kubu was a standout even among the already exceptional dining options on the property. Make sure to make a reservation prior to arrival and ask for a cocoon.

Mine and my wife's appetites drop significantly in tropical climates, so we ate lightly that day in preparation for our Kubu sets, but we still felt like exploding after the meal. Totally worth it.

Ambar has great drinks and modern/fusion-ish Japanese food, an excellent view of the valley, and live Jazz music from 6:30pm - 8:30pm. We booked a 6:00pm reservation to watch the sunset before dinner.

Soft Product

Staff are exceptional and the best we've met across any property. Every single staff happily greets you (gardeners, et al.), and we never had an interaction we didn't like. Staffs at the entrances of every location remember and greet you by name, every time without fail. Quite impressive.

Upon arrival, we were greeted by the resort manager, with whom we had a 1-2 hour chat about various RC's and RCR's. Our butler patiently waited by the side the entire time.

Our butler was truly fantastic throughout our stay. Only our RC Maldives Aris Meeha was better; we were spoiled by her and she has probably ruined all butlers for us. That being said, we absolutely appreciated our Mandapa butler and would ask for her again in a heartbeat.

Impressively we never ran into housekeeping once, yet they did a perfect job and went above and beyond. Proactively brought additional pool racks and hung up clothes we had left outdoors to dry. Also folded clothes we had left laying around indoors.

120% will be coming back to Bali just to revisit this property, even though we're not the biggest fans of Bali itself. Mandapa is just that good.
