Today is looking like a crap show already and the risk of severe weather near the NY and DC terminals is far lower than the past few days.

I'm scheduled out of LGA today so I'm just watching a few routes. I'll take my fate in stride this afternoon as the FAA puts a risk of ground stops/delay for NY and DC terminals today.

Many mid afternoon flights out of EWR are cancelled already. Out-of-position crews and planes doesn't really add up because that would cancel the morning flights, not the afternoon ones. For example EWR has already cancelled flights to BOS/IAD/FRA/MCO/FLL/LAX/TPA/EYW with most of these in the 3pm hour.

The 6am LGA-IAD flight is delayed 6 hours due to an out-of-position aircraft that diverted to PIT yesterday and never made it to LGA. It arrived IAH-PIT at 440pm yesterday and isn't due to depart to LGA until 10am this morning. Ouch.
