I have stayed here many many times and the upgrade path for a Royal Ambassador is sometimes baffling and usually miniscul but now I have had enough. Booked a stay at the end of November for 4 nights, paid for a King Junior Suite High Floor - deposit for first nght already taken (£370). Emailed to ask what the upgrade will be, yes you guessed it King Junior Suite with lounge access - that is nothing.
This time I feel like having a moan at IHG international as it is beyond a joke, especially as the hotel runs its own Naomi class system and as people say club is relegated to the hoards of 40 nighters.
Anyway, enough of a vent, has anyone got a good IHG contact email I can address this with? I want to get my deposit back before I cancel

If your booking is refundable type of booking, you can email them to get them to refund you. I have an upcoming hotel stay in Dec Xmas period and they took my deposit last month. I emailed them to ask them why it is so, as the T&C wasn't that keen about the deposit. They apologise for the error and refunded me the deposit. There was a USD2 foreign exchange loss on my AMEX card and I left it as it is. I think I will stick to IC ANA instead now.
