Can't comment on whether RAM is discriminatory or not, but here's a data point on what seems to be a transit lounge.
Flew JFK-CMN-MAK in J on RAM; at CMN, followed signs to domestic flights, and ended up in a "lounge" that's right next to 8-10 bus gates.
  • There is WiFi
  • One big room with couches and chairs for about 30 people
  • The photo shows the entire food and beverage counter; that's the only thing that sets you apart from sitting by the boarding area right outside the lounge
  • Bathrooms are outside the lounge
The one good thing about the lounge is you can see the boarding area, which is just steps away.

Got off JFK-CMN flight and followed signs. I might have run into security/metal detector (don't remember), but no passport control.
