I just stayed here and wanted to do a quick report.

Sorry, no photos.

Overall, I like the resort and think it's very good value for 35K - 40K points a night, especially when using 4th night free.

I booked eight nights. First night cash, then 2 nights using Ambassador weekend free night, then five nights points.

Got upgraded to premium ocean view room on the second floor for all 8 nights.

Room was good, only real downside of the room was that it’s got one of those open bathrooms. There’s a frosted glass door to the shower, but when you step out of the shower stall, you’re in the room. If someone is sitting on the bed the won’t see you, but if they’re in the entryway or going to the wardrobe, they will.

Minibar has bottles of water, 2 mini beers, mini can of coke and mini can of coke light. It’s free. They restock it all daily if you consume it.

Food was just OK and was pretty expensive so I’d recommend going into town for a few meals.

There’s no markup on room service though, so that’s good. We ordered room service a lot because our 3 year old isn’t well behaved in restaurants.

The resort has a beautiful little lagoon with a sandy beach, and very calm surf, so it’s perfect for young children. Also good for beginning snorkelers as there are fish in the rocks along the side of that beach.

There are beach toys (shovels, pails, etc.) for kids hanging on the outside wall of the Planet Trekkers kids club. They are free to borrow.

Apparently there’s a fixed fare system for taxis in Cozumel. The doorman will call a taxi and it arrives in 5 minutes. It costs $8 or 110 pesos to go into town or come back. Taxi to the airport was 200 pesos, so that’s $12.

Arriving at the airport is a different story. Was offered $11 per seat ($33 for the three of us) for a shared shuttle or $44 for a private taxi. We took the private taxi.

Also did a day trip to San Gervasio ruins. Hotel concierge quoted $120 for a private taxi to take us there wait a couple hours, and drive back. I declined and just asked the doorman to call a taxi. The driver pulled up and asked for 2000 pesos ($120) and I countered at 1000 pesos and he surprisingly agreed. I ended up giving him 1200.

The resort seemed pretty empty to me, which was surprising.

Note that the mosquitos can be pretty fierce, I recommend wearing long sleeves if going to dinner.

There are two ATMs on property. The one by the front desk dispenses US dollars. The one down the ramp towards the spa dispenses pesos.

There's a shop by the front desk that sells souvenirs, soft drinks, candy and sundries.

I was able to use 32 IHG food and beverage milestone award certificates to take $640 off my F&B bill. I couldn’t do it automatically, as the app kept showing me with a $0 food and beverage balance. Had to ask the front desk and they were able to do some tinkering on their end which pushed the charges through to the app and then I could redeem the awards.
