Every so often there is an article from environmental activisits about frequent flyer programs. Creating some next level elite program with really high SQM qualification would just be an invitation to increase this negative attention
I would never recommend to someone that they fly AC J with all prices being equal (and now they seem to be within 1k). Sure this is biased because I mostly fly from YVR to Asia, but I don't see how AC can benefit from making their experience better. EVA, SQ, ANA, and even CX all offer service that AC has pretty much no hope of ever meeting. And when you factor in that YVR is not even an important location for these carriers, it just feels like a waste of time for AC to try and steal these passengers away. They don't even have the network to service these passengers after. And how many premium passengers flying these airlines really need connections outside of YVR in Canada? like 2?
I think AC is happy where they are and won't make any changes outside of what they already offer. If you're SE with AC now, you probably have no other options, especially if you aren't in a hub.
