I’ve always been trained that one should not trust airplane ice out of anywhere where local drinking water is not sanitary, particularly India and most of Africa. I was flying out of India last night and sent my scotch back when it had ice in it (I had ordered it neat intentionally and the FA apologized) but when I went to the lav I realized that almost every other passenger who had a cocktail had ice in it. Am I being too cautious? Is ice catered out of India guaranteed to be properly filtered?
