Hi everyone,
I am trying to book a semi-complicated multi-city trip on United.com. The flights I am pricing out do not price out on the United.com website directly, but rather through googleflights which directs me to the booking page on United.com. I am given the itinerary and the price, but when I try to purchase the itinerary, it tells me that there is an error in the booking, and I need to call customer support.
The general idea of my itinerary is a round trip from Prague (PRG) to Noumea (NOU). However, when priced out as a multi-city trip, the itinerary is substantially cheaper.
I tried calling customer support, but after about 2 hours on the phone with a booking agent, I was told that a particular portion of the itinerary (AKL to NOU) cannot be priced by United. I told the agent that it is priced on their website, but the agent told me that it obviously must be a glitch. I can price out several variations of the itinerary with google flights, all of which will show me a price and booking option on united.com. So I am not sure I buy the glitch explanation. All in all its a bit weird.
Has anyone had a similar experience with United? I have had issues booking complicated multi-city tickets in the past with Delta, and usually it just took a good agent who knew what I was trying to do to make it work. I am not sure if that is the case here, so any experience or advice would be greatly appreciated!
Here is the link to the google flights itinerary I have priced out.
