Doubt the original ticket fare rules would allow a routing thru DXB but a pretty good chance for LX or LH USA-EU. But an F fare is likely to exceed the credit significantly.
As this is a partial flown flight credit, the replacement return segment needs to be a carrier and a routing allowed by the original ticket.
Thanks everyone. Anyone knows how I can get access to the original fare rules? I’ve been able to see the fare rules of the flight segment I have flown, but not of the cancelled one.
I’ll have to try on LH/LX then! What a shame as SQ first class was cheaper for a better product.
FYI, I should still be able to make it within the $8k in first, I’ve found some fares (bookable through United) to Oslo via FRA or MUN, or even a fare to Hambourg via FRA that involves a connection onto a train… which I’m sure nobody will notice if I miss that segment and stay in FRA
